Ever look at what’s happening with our climate and just want to hide? Fight? Cry? Scream? Sleep? Help? If so, you’re likely no stranger to experiencing eco grief. Yes, it’s a real thing. The very world that we depend on for life is stressed beyond anything we’ve seen before, and it makes sense that we inevitably respond in-kind, whether consciously or unconsciously. The cycles of our earth as we know it are changing, and it’s impacting every one of us.
Working with creative, land based, and mindful embodiment practices, Take to the Hedges is a supportive workshop that will explore eco grief and our place in its cycles. During the workshop, we’ll be working with the land and each other, moving between our indoor spaces and being outside. Hedges have traditionally been places where humans and our animal allies turn to for safety, community and nourishment.
Orienting around the concept of “take to the hedges,” we’ll come together to:
Understand eco grief
Give expression to grief
Identify ways to strengthen resiliency and find hope
If you’d like to know more, check out my blog where I share my personal experience and understanding of eco grief.
